Although we have only a small scratch on our body, we cried, we have pain, we complain of why this happened to us. Ashtwakar Sant Just think what would have happened. Most of us know of Sant Ashtwakar. For those, who do not, here is a small report. Ashtwakar Sant, a saint of the Mahabharat, was responsible for giving spiritual wisdom Raja Janak. He got his name because he was born with 8 kinks in your body. You can imagine how someone would seem abnormal if your head is in one direction, some other chest and feet in another direction.
Although his body was so deformed, he never complained about it, however, was thankful, because God had given him great wisdom and knowledge, so that he could defeat the greatest of the wise men of his time in discussion to age 12. I think that the prayer of Saint Ashtwakar would have been something like "Oh God, Thank you for giving me this opportunity I can recite his name. You are so thoughtful, you know, if you give me a handsome and healthy body, I could Ahankara lost in (the Ego). You cut my Ego of birth, so he could concentrate on his name. There is always at least two ways of looking at a situation. We may have pain for not getting something, or we can give thanks to God for give us no such thing, that He might save us from future problems that we do not foresee today.
When we remember God, reciting his name, we are trying to thank him. For example, when we say "Wah-he-guru" we are really praising him. Similarly, when we say "Ram", we feel that he is the "Jewel of Ramya" and exists in all His creations, so we feel His presence in our environment. Think of a person who is reciting "Waheguru" but still have complaints on acts of Akaal Purakh, such person will live in duality. She is grateful and is complaining once at the same time. No one says "We spent hours in Simran, but do not feel any change from within"
Try this with the following experiment: Whenever we do Arda, notice how many times we say "Kirpa Karo" and how many times we say "Shukar Hai" If our Arda / Benti is governed by "Kirpa Karo" We do not accept what Akaal Purakh is doing with our lives. A person who understands that God is always with him, that God will never cease to be with him, more often say "Shukar Hai." Chuka Bhul
